Hey there! My name is Lauren, and I have been helping people to understand the power of their minds since 2005.
It all started with overcoming years of chronic physical pain as a teenager by realising I had created an unconscious limiting belief about myself with not knowing my biological father.
In a powerful session with connecting to my Unconscious Mind, I cleared the belief of not being deserving of a good life, being unlovable and in doing so never ever had a stomach ache again. The rest is history!
I am here for you because I understand the journey it takes to truly forgive yourself and move on from the pain of the past. I know how life can feel when you feel utterly hopeless for life feeling any different to the way it is for you now. You feel you’ve been dealt your cards in life and it’s now learning ways to cope with what you’ve been given.
Am I right?
Well, I used to think this way too. Then I discovered the truth.
We can always experience life the way we want to because we have the abilities to make profound transformation and it starts with one key thing:
Your Self Love.
As a priviledged white woman who has had access to opportunities and education without even thinking about it as priviledge, I acknowledge I have been blind to the barriers and trauma faced by Black, Indigenous and People of Colour.
I was sadly awakened to the inequity in this world by the fact that women of colour do not receive the same amount of care while having a baby due to unconscious racial bias. I was deeply moved by the episode of The Resident where they share the true story of the death of Kira Dixon Johnson. Please read about this episode and her story here.
Many hospitals lack policies and protocols to prevent unconscious bias, particularly in the maternity ward.
The Resident co-creator Amy Holden Jones said,
“There actually is a solution. Those systems and those protocols exist for most of the things that go on in medicine. For surgery, if you go into the ER with chest pains, there’s a whole series of things that kick in automatically, and because they exist, even unconscious bias will be defeated because you have to follow that system of protocols. There is no protocol for childbirth. And they would have saved Kira if [there had been].”
And in another article:
In 2021, the maternal mortality rate among Black women was nearly 70 deaths for every 100,000 live births. That is 2.6 times the rate for white women, regardless of income or education. - PBS News Hour click here to go to the article.
Then when I saw across the news the tragic murder of George Floyd in May of 2020, I was angered at the racial injust that caused his death. The thought of me not using my white privilege to stand up and be a voice to change inequity in this world, makes me feel like a powerless onlooker who actually has a place of power to do something about changing this.
I am no longer a silent onlooker. I am an active participant in racial justice and the antiracist actions that need to happen immediately. I believe in a world of connection, growth and understanding to have equal opportunitues for all human beings, regardless of their education, culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity and expression, nation of origin, age, languages spoken, veteran’s status, colour, religion, disability, sexual orientation and beliefs.
At Intuitive Heart Training Academy, our mission is to give every human being the resources and resourcefulness to have choice in creating their future how they want to. We uphold our values in respecting everyone’s map of the world and continue to celebrate diversity and equal opportunities. I am committed to building a business that is racially diverse, equitable and inclusive. I will do this by making sure my services deliver on these values with my student and client experience.
I committ to ongoing donations to marginalised groups and to spend my money mindfully on businesses where it benefits women of colour where I can. I make sure I continue to be educated such as learning and receiving feedback from Racial Equity Coach, Annie Gichuru. I know there are times I will make mistakes because I am human and on a journey to unlearn and re-learn. I'm dedicated to doing better.
